About
Robert Brem is a "philosopher" and futurist – teaching politics, public administration, and psychology. He has taught at six institutions of higher learning in Arizona and California. He has been at College of Alameda since 2004 and At CSU East Bay since 2007.
Robert is a graduate of Arizona State University (in the areas of politics, counseling, and public administration). He is a National Board certified counselor, Arizona licensed professional counselor, and holds a certificate in non-profit organizational management. He has been a professional teacher, organizational consultant, "mentor" (life coach & clinical supervisor), and counselor since 1989.
Robert Brem seeks to be an influence in the lives of the people with whom he works — as a teacher and mentor and advisor — such that they are able to see the world in different ways and relate to it in a manner which is real, accessible, and personal. This is an invitation to an awareness of how one can be an active part of making their world a better place in their own unique way — and in so doing, live more meaningful and fulfilling lives!
Robert Brem is Chair of the College of Alameda curriculum committee, co-chair of the Peralta District "Green" curriculum committee, and on the Steering Committee for the Sustainable Peralta Initiative. As well, he is project director of CDULCE – an initiative in the areas of community development, urban leadership, and civic engagement.
